Ronald G. Baker grew up in Ahoskie, North Carolina. In 1971, Ron graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel with a degree in Business Administration, and in 1975 graduated from UNC Law School, with honors.

Ron served in the North Carolina National Guard from 1971 to 1977, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant with specialties in light weapons infantry and medic.

From 1975 to 1978, Ron practiced law in Greensboro, North Carolina, then returned to his home town of Ahoskie, where he practiced until he joined Sharp, Graham, Baker & Varnell.

Ron concentrates his practice in civil litigation, including the defense of medical and legal malpractice cases, as well as claims for personal injuries, products liability, and construction defects.

Active in the legal community, Ron is a member of the American and North Carolina Bar Associations, and has served as President of the North Carolina State Bar and the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. Ron also served as State Representative to the Defense Research Institute. Ron is currently a member of the North Carolina Board of Law Examiners.

Ron is an Ambassador and Life Member of the United states Jaycees, and a Lifetime Member and past-President of the Ahoskie Jaycees. Ron also served Hertford County as a County Commissioner and County Commission Chair, on the Hertford County Board of Education, and as President and Director of the Hertford County Committee of 100.

In his spare time, Ron enjoys spending time with his wife, Clara Ann, traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
